SideQuest

How it works

Every number SideQuest runs on — and three toys to prove it.

Do something real.
Prove it. Get paid in XP.

No points for showing up. A quest only pays once 5 people have looked at your proof and at least 66% of them believed you.

The loop

  1. 1Someone posts a questA real-world challenge with a category, a difficulty and an XP reward between 5 and 500.
  2. 2A hunter claims itIt moves into one of their quest slots and, if the quest is timed, the countdown starts.
  3. 3They capture proofLive on camera — photo, or video up to 60 seconds. The gallery is off limits.
  4. 4The community rules5 votes, then 66% approval pays it out. Anything less and the rewards are withheld.

XP

Where XP comes from

XP is the only currency here. It sets your level, your rank, and your place on the board — and there is exactly one way to mint it: finish something and be believed.

Rewards are provisional until approved. Voting never closes, so if a proof later drops below 66% the XP it earned is taken back — and returned again if opinion swings back.

Your streak is worth an extra 35 XP on this one quest.

Whoever posted the quest earns 50 XP too — the author's cut, unaffected by your streak.

Levels

The curve

Each level costs level1.5 × 100 XP, so climbing gets steadily harder. Level 100 is the ceiling, at 3,950,120 XP.

Ranks

The ladder

Levels are the arithmetic. Ranks are what you put in your bio. Bands widen as you climb, so the ladder still means something at level 90.

Streaks

Finish something every day

Each consecutive day adds 5% to the XP an approved quest pays, capping at ×2.00 after 20 days.

Day 1×1.05
Day 3×1.15
Day 7×1.35
Day 14×1.70
Day 20×2.00

The multiplier is locked in the moment you submit, so a proof that takes days to be approved still pays what it earned. Miss a day and the streak resets to zero.

Verification

no

Because voting never closes, a verdict can change. Rewards follow it in both directions — granted on approval, taken back if it falls below the line, restored if it climbs back.

Who can take a quest

One Hunter

Reserved for one hunter. If they abort or run out of time it returns to the board.

First to Start

The first hunter to claim it locks it for good — no late arrivals.

First to Finish

Everyone can run it at once. The first completion closes it and ends every other attempt.

Capped Number

Open until the participant cap is full, then it drops off the board.
